A table summarizing the performance of players who played at least 10 weeks in the Thursday round-robin tournaments is attached.

Renewals can be done at any playing session or they can be mailed to Phil Schafer at 3904 Bellwood Drive, Concord, CA 94519.
The fee structure is the same as 2011: 
Adult:  $30
Junior under age 18:  $15
Family:  $40  (All players must live at the same address!)

A sincere thanks to all of you who helped with the Golden State Open.
 
I was very impressed at the teamwork and coordination exhibited throughout the event from the late Friday night setup, the event management and the takedown at the tournament's end.

165 players entered the 37th nannual Golden State Open tournament that was held on May 28-29 at the Tice Valley Community Gymnasium in Walnut Creek, CA.  The event was run very smoothly by the experienced GSO staff.  Everything from setup to takedown was done with maximum efficiency.
 
The tournament results are attached.

Kent Leung's widow has given the Club $1,000 in memory of his participation in the Club's activities.  Kent died last March, he was an active member for 39 years, joining in 1982.
 
We greatly appreciate his posthumous support!

Rod Dorse called me this afternoon to report the death of Kent Leung.  He was 78 and had been fighting cancer for several years.  "Dr. Doom" was notorious for bringing several paddles with strange rubber to the table and deftly switching them when his opponents were distracted.  He was always a challenging foe who hit with remarkable accuracy with his assorted weapons.
 
I'll miss him.
